The 4 Tools Every New Coach Should Use

4 tools every new coach should use

Hey Coach Ponylings!

The second most painful part of starting my business involved technology.

(The first was learning how to sell! Here are some of my selling mistakes, if you are curious).

In the beginning, I was almost instantly overwhelmed by all of the tools out there, and I struggled to know WHICH tools I needed.

I spent way too much time worrying about things like:
1. How to take payment

2. What kind of website to set up

3. How to hold group meetings (and how to record my client sessions so they could hear them too!).

4. How to get people scheduled on my calendar in the most professional way

and on and on and on.

There was A LOT of time spent eating stress nachos in those days.

Are you struggling with any of these things?

Well, I’m here to tell you that it does get better!

Now, my team and I use a million tools to run my business (actually, I stopped counting around 20 when I just tried to tally it up), but I think that new coaches only really need four to get off the ground and get your business going.

So, without further ado: Here are the 4 tools I think every new coach should use! And, to make it fun and give you context on WHY I think these tools are important (and which ones I still use!), I’ve made a fun, yet informative, yet painless, video.

Note: We shot a bunch of videos when I did this one, but I was so caffeinated early on (this was the first video we shot of the day), I kept hitting my microphone as I was gesturing. I like to gesture 😊.

So, you’ll hear me do that twice and I apologize in advance. My editing team only caught it after we wrapped, but since I believe in progress, and not perfection, I wanted to post this video anyway. This is something that would have saved me 5 years ago – so I hope it helps you!

Here are links to the business tools I reference:

  1. ScheduleOnce
  2. Acuity
  3. Calendly
  4. WordPress
  5. Paypal
  6. FreeConferenceCallhd
  7. Mailchimp
  8. Zoom

**Note: I’m not an affiliate for these, I just like them!
